Bronze Dagger, Dian
Dian Kingdom, Yunnan, Southeast China, 300-200 BC

Height : 24,3 cm

Publication : Art of the Bronze Age in Southeast Asia, M. Doustar, 2014, cat. n° 1.
This magnificient dagger was found with a group of similar bronze blades in the area of the Lake Dian, in South China. It is probably the best example in existence, with a superb patina, extraordinary quality of cast bronze, and remarkable condition.

A similar dagger from the same group is in the collection of the Musée Barbier-Mueller in Geneva.
